Meeting of the Masters™ 2003
Meeting of the Masters 2003, held on October 25-26
at Vero Beach Museum of Art in Vero Beach, FL, set the pace for
years to come. From the onset, the level of energy behind the
planning and preparation was sky high. The idea of bringing
together Faux Effects International’s network of talented artisans
and their most accomplished students was inspired.
|
Meeting of the Masters was created
to provide an opportunity for a rare experience - to witness the
talent of the world’s most respected master faux and decorative
artisans at one time and in one place. |
Meeting of the Masters is a not-for-profit event
that was conceived as a gathering of fine and decorative artisans
to provide an educational forum that celebrates the industry and
inspires professionals to continue their education in faux and
decorative finishing, bring their skills to new levels and
optimize their potential for success in the industry. While
lectures were taking place in the auditorium, each Master’s booth
displayed beautiful works of art and provided ongoing
demonstrations throughout the two-day event.
Nicola Vigini had his hands in several projects, one of which was
a giant 10’ x 10’ mural, which he was collaborating on with Sean
Crosby. Pierre Finkelstein’s booth was swarming with interested
onlookers as he created Fauxtastic faux wood and marble. Randy
Ingram and Brian Townsend of Classical Art Studios in New Jersey,
showed how FauxColor®s work like oils – illustrating the fine art
aspect of decorative finishing.
